Are Pet Names in a Relationship a Cliche

Well we all have that sweet name that we call our significant other.Here is the thing the names are so misused that they no longer make sense.For instances my friends and I call each other babe,boo,love among others though it's still different when that one special person calls you that way.

It always sounds different from what your friends call you.From the pet names one can also know the turn a relationship is taking in the sense that if your significant other comes from calling you boo,babe,papi to your real name just know that the temperature of the relationship is not that good.

From my point of view pet names are no cliche I think they make the relationship somehow intimate and interesting.I can't have you call me the same way others do like for real how??
